BUSINESS ADVISING
The Delaware Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is the only statewide, nationally accredited program that provides high-quality one-on-one consulting, training, and information resources. Working as part of Delaware’s Community Navigator Program, our advisors are top-notch and bring years of experience to this new pilot program.
Once enrolled as a client in the Navigator Program, you can take advantage of the Small Business Development Center’s Business Advisors, or “Navigators” for one-on-one, confidential, expert advising at no cost.
Advisors at the SBDC and in the Navigator Program are experts in small business – from help with financing a new venture, touching up your business plan, applying to a grant, to seeking marketing support, we can help guide you to the most helpful and relevant resources as you grow.
Our services are on an as-needed basis – because our SBDC provides free advising, you can choose when to meet with your advisor or attend events. You can meet often to handle high-intensity projects or do a light check-in with your advisor once in a while. Whether you’ve got one burning question or are looking for a decades-long support system, we’ve been here for over forty years, so we’ll be around when you need us!

Our organization works to host helpful webinars, workshops, community events, panel discussions, and even full-length, multi-stage training events.
Collaborating with our entire network, our goal is not to duplicate what’s already out there, but instead to promote it, show up and support, and be sure our clients and community members are aware of the opportunities around us.

PROGRAMS & SERVICES
The Navigator Program is proud to partner with several organizations across the state to be sure entrepreneurs have the support they need. Several programs, cohorts, recurring seminars, and groups or associations can be beneficial to a small business – check out some of the options below:
Wilmington Alliance will connect entrepreneurs to service providers to help grow and sustain their businesses. Marketing services can include professional photography sessions, social media strategy and templates, website design and branding assistance. Operating supports such as accounting, establishing standard operating procedures and human resource management are also being offered for a select number of small businesses. Business owners who apply and are approved will be matched with contracted vendors to provide these services, free of charge.
New small businesses can register on the online directory to promote their business and to receive news and updates on resources, workshops, and networking opportunities. Wilmington Alliance also hosts educational workshops throughout the year for local entrepreneurs. All business owners on the registry will be notified of these workshops and opportunities.
